Did you know that April is Rotary’s maternal and child health month?

Nearly 6 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation. That’s why one of Rotary’s key areas of focus is on expanding access to quality care for mothers and their children.  Maternal and child health is exactly what we’ll be focusing on over the coming weeks as we prepare for our birthing kit packing day on Saturday 4 May.  Please consider joining us to help pack 3000 lifesaving birthing kits to support women in regions without medical facilities or staff to give birth safely.

Each kit costs $5 and contains simple items that are designed to help women at home or with limited medical support to deliver their babies safely, with reduced exposure to disease and infection.  Find out more about birthing kits here.
