In the lead-up to World Polio Day, members came together on a sunny Saturday to raise funds for the End Polio Now campaign by cooking up a storm on the BBQ at Bunnings Fyshwick.
Many customers were interested in hearing of Rotary International’s ongoing efforts to eradicate polio. Our team were worked off their feet and raised just under $2,000 for the End Polio campaign - what a great effort. Of course we also thank Bunnings for the wonderful opportunities from community groups like ours to raise much needed funds to support our service through the BBQs.
With only 7 reported wild cases in 2023 so far, Rotary’s work in ending polio is tracking well. The funds raised from our BBQ will assist those on the ground providing vaccinations to some of the most vulnerable.
