It was great to see the culmination of about a month's planning and shopping come together with ten members and friends packing 80 Christmas hampers brim full of goodies and the following day (10th December), with six members and friends delivering the hampers to residents at Oaks Estate. It was very satisfying to hear the thankful comments of many of the residents.
This was truly a joint service activity.  The budget of $2,500 was provided by the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra ($1,000), our Sundowners club ($1,000) and our wonderful corporate sponsor, Keane Consulting ($500).  Our team worked closely with the St Vincent de Paul's (Vinnies) Oaks Estate based Community Inclusion Program to bring this together and make it a great success.
Benjamin from the Vinnies Oaks Estate Community Inclusion Program commented on how these hampers will result in improved wellbeing and joy and anticipation for this coming Christmas. This was another example of how we can make a bigger difference working with partners like Vinnies.
