Did you support our birthing kit packing day? Do we have an update for you!
In May we purchased and packed 3,000 lifesaving birthing kits for women in remote communities with limited access to basic healthcare.
The Birthing Kit Foundation Australia has informed us that our kits have been distributed to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Pakistan, Malawi, Nigeria and Uganda where they will help women deliver their babies safely with reduced risk of disease or infection.
You might recall our packing day coincided with the Rotary International EPIC Day of Service.
Did you know that our event attracted the third-highest number of volunteers — and third-highest number of volunteer hours — of participating Rotary clubs around the world? Not bad for a young Rotary club in Canberra!
Thank you again to everyone who supported this worthy initiative!
