More than 100 Rotarians and volunteers united to pack 3,000 kits at our birthing kit packing day on 17 May.

That’s thousands of births made safer thanks to six simple but effective items: soap, a plastic sheet, gloves, gauze, cord ties and a sterile blade.

The Birthing Kit Foundation Australia will distribute the kits to remote communities, where they have been proven to save the lives of mothers and their newborns.

This is the seventh year we have supported the foundation, with more than 10,000 birthing kits packed and donated to date.

We were among thousands of Rotary clubs around the world undertaking significant projects as part of the Rotary International EPIC Day of Service.

Thank you to everyone who generously volunteered their time to assemble the kits. As always, we’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received, including from our members, fellow Rotarians, corporate partners, supporters and the Gungahlin SES.

We look forward to finding out where they have been sent.
