For several years now, we have been working with the Vinnies Community Inclusion Program at Oaks Estate to bring some festive cheer to companions during the holiday season.
This year we again organised for the purchase, packing and delivery of Christmas hampers for each companion. Filled to the brim with much-needed Christmas essentials such as canned ham, gingerbread and panettones, the hampers are a tangible way to show the companions they are appreciated.
We came together at our meeting on 3 December to pack the hampers before they are distributed to the companions at their Christmas lunch.
We are grateful for the support of the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra, Keane Consulting and Cyconsol, whose contributions ensured the hampers were filled with plenty of items.
For many vulnerable members of our community, the Christmas period is not a happy time. With a little bit of love and compassion, we hope to make this Christmas a memorable time for the companions at Oaks Estate.
