Ever heard of plalkin’?
Pronounced “plaw-kin”, it involves walking and picking up litter — a simple but effective way to stay active while keeping our environment free of rubbish.
On Sunday 20 July we enjoyed plalkin’ around Weston Park, chatting and collecting litter. The most unusual piece of rubbish found? A scrabble piece!
While it’s always disappointing to find litter spoiling our green spaces, it was a lovely day to help make a beloved community space a little cleaner and greener.
We’re one of several Rotary clubs collecting rubbish around Canberra in support of the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra Plalkin’ My World project.
It’s just one of the ways we’re serving our community.
