Our first half of the 2023-24 Rotary year has continued to exhibit the primary Canberra Sundowners traits - lots of small and largely hands-on activities with a primary focus on our local Canberra community. Before heading off on a very well earned break, our club finished the year with a bang, which included the following activities:
- painting of the outdoor community facilities and picnic tables at Oaks Estate (supporting the Vinnies Community Inclusion Program),
- purchase of hundreds of dollars of items for Community Services #1 Christmas hampers,
- purchase of $1,500 of Christmas goodies and packing of these into Christmas hampers for Oaks Estate residents (supporting the Vinnies Community Inclusion Program) - thanks to Keane Consulting and the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra for financial contributions,
- providing people to support the Community Services #1 Christmas Party,
- purchase of 2 defibrillators to be installed at Community Services #1 premises in the new year, and
- providing the people power for the Vinnies Night Van (Sundowners staff this van one night every month).
