A colourful array of hats were on show at our 1 October meeting to help lift the lid on mental illness.
Hat Day on 10 October is an Australian Rotary Health initiative raising money for mental health research.
We marked Hat Day a little early, raising awareness of the one in five people in Australia who experience a mental illness each year.

We also discussed a range of upcoming opportunities, including:
- Floriade gnome painting on Saturday 5 October.
- Our next Bunnings BBQ fundraiser on Saturday 19 October.
- Supporting the Vinnies Night Patrol later this month.
We also learned more about how Rotary is continuing to “say no to domestic violence” in our district — and look forward to sharing more details about what’s happening in this space soon.
Thank you to John from the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra for coming along and speaking with our club about this important initiative.
