At our 5 August meeting we welcomed His Excellency Ajay Amrit, the Fijian High Commissioner to Australia, as our guest speaker.
His Excellency delivered a powerful presentation on the current social and economic conditions in Fiji, sharing heartfelt stories and highlighting areas where Rotary can play a role in supporting vulnerable communities across the country.
There are opportunities for Clubs in Rotary District 9705 to partner together to make a lasting and positive impact in Fiji and across the Pacific. We will now explore practical ways where we can offer support and assistance.
In appreciation of His Excellency’s time and insights, we made a donation to Australian Rotary Health’s ‘Lift The Lid’ initiative in his name. This important fund supports vital mental health research and we are proud to be able to support such an incredible cause.
