Our chartering committee has continued to work hard behind the scenes. At this stage it appears possible that we may be chartered sometime in August, although there are still a few uncertainties. A few of the things that we have been progressing include:
1. The constitution and bylaws have been updated to incorporate RI feedback. These have been circulated to members for consideration at the 17th August meeting.
2. Our draft budget for our administration/general account has been endorsed by the Canberra Sunrise Board. Our requests for financial support to help establish the club have been generously met with a $1,000 contribution form the District and a $3,500 contribution from Canberra Sunrise. This will ensure we have sufficient funds for our first year or so and a financial buffer for general and administration costs.
3. The Board has approved opening bank accounts with Westpac.
5. Our initial website is ready to launch.
Tara and her charter celebration team have been busy developing plans for our Charter Celebration function, including checking out venue options. At this stage the tentative date for the event is 22nd October.
