This week we were pleased to hear from Caitlin Figueiredo, the 2024 ACT Young Australian of the Year. For a decade, Caitlin has been a passionate advocate for young people and their right to be heard in politics.
Recognising the importance of education beyond the classroom, Caitlin co-founded Girls Take Over Parliament, a program that provides young women across the political spectrum with training, mentorship and the skills to become the next generation of leaders.
Caitlin’s work aligns with Rotary’s theme of Basic Education and Literacy by embodying the power of education to transform lives.
In appreciation of Caitlin sharing her inspiring story, we made a donation to Australian Rotary Health’s ‘Lift The Lid’ initiative in her name. This important fund supports vital mental health research and we are proud to be able to support such an incredible cause.
